The short version

Mom Guard scores what is on screen on your computer. Nothing about what your child browses leaves the browser unless you sign in, have a paid plan, and turn on an option below.

What we collect

Your email address and a hashed password when you create an account. Your plan status and Stripe customer ID. Basic page analytics on this website. If you ask for a school pack, the details you type in the form.

Payments

Cards are entered into Stripe's embedded form and handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.

Encrypted sync

If you use sync, the extension encrypts your settings, profiles, and approval requests in the browser with your family passphrase before upload. We store the encrypted blob and cannot read it. We cannot recover a lost passphrase.

Weekly summaries and alerts

Only if you turn on usage counts in your account. The extension then sends daily counts (items hidden, flagged, allowed, Shorts blocked, minutes, requests) and category names. It never sends page text, video titles, URLs, or searches. Child names are sent only if you enable that option; otherwise emails say Child 1, Child 2.

Email

We use Amazon SES to send account emails, trial and billing notices, and any summaries or alerts you have enabled. Optional emails include a one-click unsubscribe link.

Who sees your data

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Service providers process it for us: Stripe for payments, Amazon Web Services for email, and our hosting provider.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from the account panel. That cancels any active plan, and removes your sync data, saved plans, usage counts, alerts, and account. Billing records held by Stripe follow their own retention rules. You can also email hello@mom.nz.

Children

Mom Guard is for parents and carers. Accounts are for adults. Children's browsing is scored locally on the device where the extension is installed.
